Egg Salad. I bet even Carole Baskin likes egg salad! I love it too and I hope you will enjoy this recipe! Here are the ingredients.

Recipe:
- 5 whole eggs
- 1/4 mayonnaise
- 1/2 an apple, minced
- 2 tbsp red onion, minced
- salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

1. Boil 1 inch or so of water in a small pot
2. Add whole eggs into boiling water and turn heat down to medium.
3. Simmer eggs for 13 minutes.
4. Place eggs in a nice ice bath for 15 minutes.
5. Peel eggs and start mashing!
6. Add mayo, apple, onion, salt and pepper and start mixing them together.
7. Serve on Wonderbread or grainy toast!
8. Epstein also didn't kill himself.

I stopped boiling eggs a year ago. Steaming medium eggs for 15 minutes. Cool in cold water to about room temp, and the shells come right off every time. Perfect for deviled eggs.

I really enjoy your. presentations, Brian, they are not only informative but entertaining. In the past, I, too, have had bad experiences with peeling boiled eggs, so I googled the best way to peel boiled eggs, and watched a video of a chef who imparted the same directions you just shared. Since I have employed this method I have had consistent success in. peeling boiled eggs. I also like to have limited onion and some crunch ( I use celery because it is a favorite of my husband's)....Thanks again, Brian, for your entertaining instructions.

STEAM cook your eggs. DON'T boil them. 15 minutes for six eggs or 17 minutes for a dozen. Your life will be changed! Trust me. They will peel easy and will be perfectly cooked.

When boiling eggs put about 4 or 5 teaspoons of salt in the water an the shell will come right off

I've been vaguely considering someday making egg salad with horseradish mustard.
And Hellmann's. Of course.
Still working on textural elements. Finely chopped dill pickle? Sweet banana pepper instead? Center stalks of celery? Which kind of onion to add...Vidalias will be a few more weeks in the waiting...too mild?

Looks great! I might give it a go with the apple! I usually add a touch of mustard and a little cayenne pepper.

Let the eggs sit on the counter for an hour before boiling them then boil for 10 minutes, then into the ice water bath. Cold eggs right out of the fridge will sometimes crack when placed into boiling water and the white leaks out.

Thanks for sharing recipe. To boil eggs; place eggs in cold water, with 1-2 tb. salt. Bring to boil. Simmer for 10-15 minutes. Drain eggs. Add to cold water bath for 10 minutes. Run egg under cold water while peeling. The salt allows the shells to peel off easily.

I have used a lot of things to mash up hard boiled eggs for egg salad. Everything from a fork to empty soup can with a couple of holes punch in the can. In my old age, I have stuck with a pastry tool. You know, the one for making a pie crust. Works great. (so does the empty can)

Also, one thing I usually do before the ice bath is drain the eggs of the hot water, kinda bang em up against each other and get some cracks started, before I drop them into the ice bath.

I use an egg slicer and slice them three ways and then mash the rest. ;)
