As a builder I'm kind of stuck between the crab and the armadillo, crab for obvious reasons, but the armadillo would be so much cooler as a mob, plus we get armor to raise an army of wolves.

The problem isn’t that they want a mob vote, the problem is telling us that we will never see these options again. Especially since these mobs and features are things people have been begging for.

The way Dan looked at us when he showed us grim was him knowing that he would give a wave of nostalgia. I have been a long supporter since the mod showcases keep up the great work.

And remember my fellow Minecraftians, to boycott the vote and demand we get all of the mobs, both from this year and all years prior. We deserve better. If modders can add all this year's mobs unless than a day, Mojang can add them all in less than a month. Do your part and help us get a better Minecraft!

There's absolutely no way they'd give you an item that gives you that long of reach so easily; especially given what they've done with mobs in the past, (and because it'd be super OP otherwise) my theory is that it'd only extend your normal 4 blocks reach another 2 or 3 at most, perhaps adding a new item-specific enchantment to extend it slightly further, but especially given how easy they seem to be to acquire, it'd be crazy to make the reach too far.

Hope you're feeling better now Dan! I also lost my cat of 10 years to cancer a few days go and it takes a lot to stay strong when losing someone really close to you, and doing it in 3 weeks is even tougher! I'm glad to see you're doing alright!

What most people forget is that we don’t bring out wolves because we are afraid they’ll get killed, but now they wont be so mushy and actually viable to bring out as a battle pet

I'm with Dan on this one. I love penguins, and the armadillo is also really cute, but the crab just seems to be more useful in the long run, compared to "wolf armor" that'll make me take my wolf out once and then just abandon them afterwards again. People are really only voting for the wolf armor because they have been asking for it for so long, and they think they'll never get it after this vote. With that same logic you could say the same for the crab claw and adorable penguins, but this is just my opinion. Crabs would change the game more long-term, armadillos would be fun for a second and then leave my mind forever, and the penguins... are so cute and I love them but they're doomed to lose because of the armadillo. :'(

On point dan, the deva aren't lazy, it's just the best way to stay relevant. the votes tend to draw attention and provoke communication on all sides. But it would be nice to get more frequent mob votes, maybe quarterly and between 2 rather than 3 mobs.

The issue with wolf armor is that wolves don’t really die to mobs, more often it’s because they jump off cliffs or into lava. Not many people bring wolves with them, not only for those reasons, but because they tend to get in the way.

The penguins seem to be based on rockhopper penguins, which have yellow eyebrow things and are aptly named for the environment they live in

The thing is I use wolves way less than I do any building, plus going through the grinding of getting wolf armor would probably lead me to still not use wolves and just leave them in my house more often, especially too once you get to the point of netherite tools and armor who still uses wolves past that point unless you're on a smp with friends fighting each other? Overall even if it's just one or two blocks I think the crab would still be more useful overall.
