I find it funny that day people look at night owls as lazy just because we do not get up in the early am.

I get just as much work done in my awake time as other people, it's just that I don't start until noon.

I want to force myself awake in the morning but it's so hard to get up. I often hit the snooze button without being consciously aware of doing it. My unconscious brain clearly hates myself and wishes to ruin my day by wasting a large portion of it asleep.

I live in Norway, so letting the amount of light determine when i fall asleep isn't really an option at winter. It doesn't become bright before 12:00 some days, and gets dark at 17:00...

I tell you what, I was in Nepal in the mountains in October.  I am normally a complete night owl back at home.  But there, in bed at 9, up at 6 - feeling awesome and packed with energy.  Was pretty crazy.  So I can vouch a lot for the computers and phone screens keeping you up late.

Also, I used to suffer with insomnia, and a friend of mine told me to go camping for a week to reset my body clock.  It worked wonders!! :D

my lifestyle has changed, by moving to the city and working in an office now. It's made me become less active than ever before and with it being cold, wet and dark outside, doesn't help.
All I do is lay in bed for half a day after getting the 9 hours sleep.

Download a program called flux, it will automatically change the brightness and colour (less blue light) of your screen when it gets later in the day. I've got it on both my PC and my phone.

Annoyingly, everyone I know uses max screen brightness on their phone/laptop/computer screens, all the time. I have trained myself to lower the brightness until a white screen looks just like a white paper. Then it's really comfortable to use for example now in the YT comments. I only turn it up when I sit down to watch a movie or play a game and I don't want to miss any detail. When I point it out to them (e.g. girlfriend facebooking for hours before going to sleep or workmates programming 8h/day in front of a Sun-bright screen) they are amazed at the concept and confess they never toy with the brightness settings. Appalled face.

My circadian cycle is just completely random... I can stay up the entire night if I want some days, but some days I can't even stay up till 6pm..

I thought artificial lighting was dimmer than daylight? When switching on lights in daytime, I see the daylight outshines them even when cloudy (well, most of the time). You can also test this when pointing an optic fiber to the sky or to a lamp.

But I constantly tired all the time, all the way from the minute I get up to the minute I go to bed. no matter how much sleep i get, I could sleep for 1000 years and it STILL wouldn't be enough.

So looking at a bright screen when waking up helps with tiredness? It feels like it works for me.

1:29 Nobody gets this. "Oh if you're tired just go to bed and get some sleep!"

Yeah the only problem with blocking blue light is that it looks very odd on screen.
