Thank gosh he didnt add it. I have accidentally hit my cows with my ax an extremely concerning amount of times when i was trying to milk them

turn my childs into birds,
erase memories,
invade caves and kill the hosts,
get fish meat,
get monster meat,
get slime "meat",
get bat wings,
create a Jurassic Park,
and so much more

but I can't have a ranch in a farm game?

If they had added animal butchering I say they should also add animal aging along side it

He made a good choice, for people who want that kind of gameplay there's a mod for it called "Animal Husbandry"
