If you plan on making money on truffles, they do get the effect from the Gatherer and Botanist skills. So not only do you get extra truffles from Gatherer, but they’ll all be iridium quality by default

My way to choose animals is to not choose and just have all of them

And then you get ostrich eggs, get them iridium quality, make iridium quality mayonnaise (one ostrich egg makes ten mayo), sell them all, and become the valleys one person mayo empire.

don't forget you can put cheese in persevering vats in the basement, large goat cheese sells for a mint once it's erodium quality and only takes a season.

Ducks - not as profitable as chickens but you can get duck feathers a loved gift for Leo and Elliot
Rabbits - similar to ducks not great for profit however they can drop rabbits feet, a universally loved gift except for penny
Dinos - eggs can be found on infested floors in skull caverns than incubated, very cute
Void chickens-less profitable then chickens but easy loved gifts for krobus if you want to roommate with him
Goats are really similar to cows but their milk is better to age into cheese
Ostriches lay giant eggs once a week, which you can turn into 10 mayonnaise. They also keep their quality when processed
Sheep are really cute but don't have that much going for them

I play kinda weirdly. I don't take on more responsibility in game than I think I would in real life. In other words, I've only got, like, 3 chickens and 1 cow. Also, out of principle, I don't have a mayo machine, cause I think mayo's gross. I know it technically hinders my potential, and whatever, but honestly, I like playing this way.

Goats are also pretty good cause getting gold goat chesse is pretty good even without making it iridium quality
