This film and the whole trilogy really made Lucius Fox an interesting character.
If I remember correctly in both the comics and animated series, Fox was just a character made to cover up for why Bruce Wayne wasn’t working at Wayne Tech day to day while having nothing to with his Batman activities.
This film however gave him more character and made him famous for either making or supplying Batman’s gadgets while legit helping Bruce with Batman. Not to mention Morgan Freeman’s great performance.
Since then, Fox is now a more prominent character in the Batman mythos who helps him in anyway he can like in Arkham Knight.
This film did for Lucius Fox what the animated series did for Mr Freeze or what Spider-Man 2 did for Doc Ock, it changed the way future audiences view the character while making them more interesting than before.

Rewatching these for the 100th time is AMAZING, you can really tell that Christopher Nolan is an insanely huge batman fan. Tiny little lines of dialogue actually reference really old or hidden but amazing references.
