Training every day seems to be more of a virtue and indicator of a active lifestyle rather than gaining muscle. Rest days are important for the body and mental health.

I'm going to try resting every day for a year, for the gains 💪🏻

Facts. Dude spits straight facts. Doesn't sugarcoat it, doesn't give you BS, just gives you straight facts. That's what I love about this channel.

One of the most beneficial things I learned from watching this channel is that this whole idea of living in the gym hours on end, day after day isn't actually good to promote muscle growth and in fact, can work against you. So many fitness influencers put out this idea that you can just brute force your way to maximal growth when in reality it's a lot simpler and thankfully a lot less time consuming and exhausting.

When I was homeless I trained daily because the gym had a shower 😂. Housed MWF push, pull, legs is a decent enough habit to maintain.

But, Arnold taught us in the first Conan movie that if we push a wheel all day every day for years, we will be super huge!

Ever since coming across this channel, I've paid a lot more attention to my body and am giving it rest when i need to. Thanks to that, I can train hard with more consistency than ever before. I had plateaued for over half a year, now I'm gaining strength in my lifts almost every week!

This is the video i needed to see today. I took a rest day yesterday because i was so exhausted and ive been beating myself up about it. I need to keep working on absorbing the fact that its okay to rest sometimes

I went for 6 months "working out" every day and it was amazing. It was mainly just the psychological effect of putting in work every day to keep my routine. I would only "train" 4-5 days/week. The other days might only be a bike ride or a brisk half hour walk. Still, putting in some work every day felt good and kept me in my routine.

Rest might promote better gains, but it sure as shit doesn't keep the voices in my head quiet

The best part when you start to lift is realizing that you only need like a 4-5 hour weekly commitment and the gains come outside the gym. Rest and sleep become virtues.

Recovery - the most underrated aspect of training

From other comments I've made on other threads, I always say a day off and recovery is one of the most important points to better gains. I get so many arguments on that. I had one guy talking about farm boys work out everyday and are jacked, and he said he was a personal trainer. Other people swear no days off is the only way to get big. But just absolutely insanity because some people will not accept how important recovery is. So many arguments I've had ppl tell me everything I say is wrong. But the real problem is I'm right and so many people are wrong. Dr.mikes the man.

I don't consider light cardio and a little core a workout. I do that on my rest days so i don't go insane from lack of activity.

It depends on what you’re training for. If you just want to get stronger, do one set of a weight close to your max every day and gradually increase the number of reps before increasing the weight. You’re not going to get sore from a 8-15 rep set of anything.

3 day full body for me. Loving the mix of more intensity and recovery.

Thank you for this. I’ve been going at it pretty hard after work which is very physical too. I am getting injured because I’m not getting any rest. Then I feel guilty taking 2 or 3 days off when my body is screaming in pain. Just thought well I have to work through this shit. No pain no gain right.

5 days of lifting and 2 cardio works for me. The cardio days are not super intense. I've gotten great results. Lifting heavy (or even moderate) 7 days per week is not smart.

The gains I got in my 30s going every other day and just eating right is insane compared to my gains of going to the gym every day and eating whatever.

That's it, now I'm starting a company called team no days off. Who wants a job?
