Find non electric options of things you use on a regular basis and try to get a manual version. The tip about the manual can openers is a good example. Some who come knocking for help might have a few cans on their shelves but not a way to open them so a can, bottle or package opener will be important. Be sure to get the most durable of anything you choose because the dollar store types might be cheap but they can break easily. Check garage sales and thrift stores, they often have some things like new or brand new for a fraction of the cost. Have on hand extra shoe and boot laces and the glue for shoes in case the soles come loose or you need to add a repair patch.

I really like your program. I really do. I watch to see if I have any holes in my stuff which I have put away. I use Ever Clear for the alcohol. Bartering and first aid. Isiopropal alcohol I prefer to be 98 percent. Oils and lubricants. Grease. Extra inner tubes for the Bikes and tire repair. (I have two sets for each bike.)

I think people stocking seeds are clueless how difficult farming is in good times.
If you dont have your land prepped by adding clippings for at least 2-3 years..you aint gonna grow much.
Plus you need fertilizers...and a good water source. Rain dont always come when you need it.

If you crochet or knit live in a cold climate and have extra yarn scraps make some hats, all sizes, colors don’t matter. These will make great barter items. Keep a tote full

Vinegar for cleaning and weed control as well as pickling salts, bug spray, essential oils, herbs (grow your own with lots of foraging references) buckets and tarps for water collection and food storage away from critters, rat poisons away from pet access, valve to block sewage from backing into house, Everclear for making medicinal tinctures (not vices), large metal barrel( still looking for source but on my list not really barter unless you have extra

Awesome...I've checked 37 out of 40. I vaccum seal many of these items in small amounts. I also hold onto my small emptied bottles of h20. Refill tem and give them to folks who need

Thanks for your site! I am always looking for items that I may have missed that are crucial for survival!! If you have a lot of trees around, a small sawmill would be handy. Of course, you need stuff to supplement such as chain saws.

Canning supplies, pest control, non-electronic watches, and a few more... but good list. Wife says "Lots of honey from Azure".. LOL!

I was thinking along with winter / cold gear insulated coveralls might be a sure bet

If you have small engine stuff, make sure you have carb cleaner and extra carburetors for your generators and chain saws. Have extra gasoline and kerosine. If you have a well, make sure you have an extra pump for the well. Hammers and lots of nails.
