10 facts on why you need to have a plan right now in place that's going to make your life a lot easier when times change. Why a plan is so very important to your survival. Why is it so important to take the time to make these plans I'm going to talk about. Why this could be the difference between life and death for you and your family in an emergency situation.

Survival preparedness refers to the actions taken to ensure that one can survive and cope in the event of a natural disaster, pandemic, or other emergency situation. It involves assembling a kit of essential supplies, learning survival skills, and having a plan in place for communication and evacuation. This includes having non-perishable food and water, a first aid kit, a means of communication such as a radio, and tools to start a fire or signal for help. It also involves being informed about potential emergencies in one's area and understanding how to stay safe in various scenarios. The goal of survival preparedness is to increase the chances of survival and reduce the impact of a disaster on oneself and loved ones.

To be prepared, follow these steps:

Identify potential risks and hazards: Consider the specific challenges and dangers that you might face in different scenarios, such as natural disasters, pandemics, or financial emergencies.

Develop a plan: Write down a step-by-step plan that outlines what to do in case of an emergency. Make sure everyone in your household knows the plan and understands it.

Assemble a emergency kit: Keep a stock of basic supplies such as food, water, first-aid supplies, and a battery-operated radio. Make sure it is easily accessible.

Stay informed: Stay up-to-date on current events and weather reports, and sign up for emergency alerts in your area.

Practice and review: Regularly review your emergency plan and conduct regular drills to make sure everyone knows what to do.

Be financially prepared: Make sure you have a savings account for emergencies, and consider getting insurance for major assets and liabilities.

Know your resources: Familiarize yourself with local resources, such as hospitals, police stations, and emergency shelters.

By following these steps, you can increase your readiness and reduce the impact of emergencies on you and your loved ones.

We buy water jugs and use for drinking. Once empty, we refill with tap water which is ok. Then we stack in our spare room. If the grid goes down or public water goes toxic, we have water for a long period. We have a day picked to replace the water every 6 months.

In an apartment and endorse the 6 lb, thin water containers going for $16 at Walmart. Discreet, light and can be used to work out with. Can be hidden behind/ under furniture, or in a suitcase.

Well I'm on the way side because my husband and kids do not believe in prepping. It makes me mad that it's six against me. They won't let me put food aside or plan a way out. If it comes down to it I am literally on my own

Thanks Charles. All good reminders. I agree that the hardest is water. You can only store so much unless you have a place that's good for that. It's also heavy, so you can't just have it in a closet or somewhere like that. Many live in apartments. Also, I live in New England, and if outside it would freeze in the winter. Not easy. I mean, you can store some inside, but not tons of it. I hope you have a very nice Easter.

Here is southern Louisiana we get plenty of rain and we have many waterways. Some times we get too much water Flooding). But, what if climate change caused this area to become a desert or limits our water or the water becomes contaminated with radiation or chemicals? Yes, water is heavy and challenging to store. I still store bottled water and plenty of it. My wife thinks I am somewhat crazy when it comes to prepping but she will look to me when disaster occurs.

I think? Pretty much everyone that is currently implementing plans
to prep?
Pretty much has.
95% of the remainder out there are a lost cause.
There will be some that come very late to the party that will be left with the price-inflated dregs to gather when the bottom falls out.
Not my problem.
Call that a character flaw, but there it is.... lol

There is an overstock/salvage store in Bangor, Maine. Marden's has several stores in this state. I go there several times each week to see what is there. I have taken advantage of some tremendous discounts when I have bought 10-15 items. I am looking forward to this summer. I am certain there will be yard sales galore. People will be need of $$$. If I end up with extra, extra hand tools etc. all the better for the next 5-10 years.

Thanks Charles. I need to check my manual wheelchair to make sure it's in good condition in case I have to go further than across the street to haul water. The secondary source is within walking distance so I won't be driving to it. Much Love ❤
