I'm so confused. I just got sent a new headset (the same one my mic wasn't working) and I'm having the same issue, I can select it on every app I have: Discord, OBS, and in general computer sound settings. I get 0 feedback however when I selected "listen to this device" I could hear myself. Please help!

My issue is that windows 10 only allows me to have the mic working when I am in headset mode not headphone mode. but my audio quality is absolute garbage because of this. How do I fix that?

I got a splitter for my headphones so I can hear and speak, but rather than this working my headphones mic wouldn't work nor get recognized from wnidows settings! It just says "speakers". How do I fix this problem?

my headset has the option to work with cable (output works great, mic doesn't work) and with bluetooth (mic works perfecly). The thing is: when I'm using by headset jack cable, the PC says there is no other device connected, but I can hear things, the phones work normal. The only issue is the mic and the fact that it doesn't show in the settings at all not even disabled

I plugged a brand new headset in, didn't ask me what is this device or anything, I did the feedback loop test in game and it worked for like 10 seconds, I heard my own voice and everything and then it just stopped altogether and I cannot figure out how to get this to work. Pulling my hair out over this ready to die.

Wow, Microsoft added layers of convolution on top of leaving the old interface anyway. I'm an IT pro and this video helped me fix it. WHY WOULD IT BE MUTED BY DEFAULT?!? 😂
