What you do if your PC doesn't support DDR5 - leave it with DDR4 !!

I just bought the DDR4 version of this MB specifically because tons of pp say stay away from DDR5. Anyways, very tasty looking build!

using TG Kryonaut but be cheap and not having the original TG contact frame? ... guess the wasted money already got into the board huh?

This is the dumbest upgrade you can do😂

Replacing a mobo just for ddr5 seems like a waste, but just my 2 cents.

Some z690 do support ddr5 but honestly ddr5 at this point in time isnt that useful

And you got 0.5% performance increase after spending hundreds of dollars.

What professional PC builders probably over estimate is the frequency of people upgrading their system. I don't. I built my last PC in 2019. I will rock this machine for 5 years and then build a new one. I never upgrade

Not too tight with that CPU bracket. Other wise ram channels and other stuff stops working.

how to spend 500$ for almost no performance gain

No. You don't put 1000$ towards an upgrade you don't need. This is awful advice.

I'm on DDR4 with a Ryzen 5900X and the day I will move away from this will be the day the 5900X runs out of steam and can't run games at the FPS I want anymore, and that will be a couple years.

Then 45 minutes later after you reconfigure your bios, it'll be time for dinner. Then another hour later back to the game. What you just dropped another thousand dollars on😢

Out goes the 250 dollar motherboard THAT IS STILL TOTALY FINE BECAUSE NOBODY NEEDS DDR5 MEMORY FOR GAMING and in goes the 350 DOLLAR WASTE OF CASH.

You must really love building and really hate saving money upgrading from a single generation like that.

I built Ryzen 7 7700X, Lan Li 240mm AiO, B650 motherboard, 64 Gigs GDDR5 and Radeon 7800XT 16Gig video with 6 Terabytes SSD Storage. RGB to the fullest with Windows 11.

Wait till DDR6 is out! 🤯
ddr4 or ddr5 at gaming maybe useless atm bcz. ddr4 too dd5 is only in the most games 3-4fps.... so its totally useless too upgrade it if you have good 4800mhz ddr4 vs 6000mhz ddr5 😱 "3-4fps" but it costs me at the end 350€ more for a cheap board and ram (witout an new cpu) with cpu 600€ if i use the same specs of wifi bt and itx i pay at am5 314€ so its at the end not only 600€ its ~814€ without a gpu who gives more then only 3-4fps, my silent gaming itx pc in all white is 2 months old and costs me 550€ and 2-3 hours work, compare it with a gpu for 800€ and you have much much more fps :D🤣
