Genetic markers for high blood pressure

Dr Declan Mc Kenna of Ulster University has been allocated £58,787 to try to develop a simple blood test that would identify which patients with high blood pressure are most at risk from cardiovascular disease (CVD). It would also differentiate between the different types of CVD – such as stroke, heart failure and acute myocardial infarction.
