How to Remove & Replace a Door Knob (No Visible Screws) | Door Knob Installation

This door knob removal and installation video shows you how to remove and replace a door knob without visible screws. I had to replace my entire cylindrical door lock mechanism because of a broken key hole but others might have different reasons. Regardless, I did encounter a number of challenges throughout the process such as a stuck catch that wouldn't release the inside door knob and how I was able to solve this. Also the new striker box was bigger than the old one and I had to make adjustments to the door jamb hole.

Thanks much. You include all the little nuances that the "instructions" that come with a new knob do not. You smoothed out the installation process. I needed a replacement knob because I had closed the locked door -- but had no key to unlock it. My solution instead of a hacksaw was an electric grinder with a cutting wheel. That saves a lot of time and sweat. Good stuff, Mr. 007.

Aw thanks, man! My old rented apartment has every sort of doorknob you can imagine. Your videos helped me to switch each of them out to lovely new crystal knobs. I had to get the tinsnips out but luckily did not have to go the hacksaw route. I am shopping for a hacksaw for my toolbox right now though.
