Does this same process work on the bottom pieces so I can maybe remove a strip and relocate the starter strip a bit higher? House has siding that goes all the way to the ground and I'd like to correct that without pulling everything off

Isn't there some kind of wrap that should be under the siding, your example doesn't seem to have it? I have a leak under my siding & am thinking this may be the culprit, no wrap under siding.

What would make my vinyl siding impossible to take off with that tool? I am destroying siding because no matter where I insert the tool it is the same, I hook the siding but I pull like superman just for it to barely pull down and pop off. I tried different angles, tried inserting the tool at every inch of the siding and same results, it hooks, I watch from below and it doesn't separate the siding, its damaging it from being pulled so hard with zero give, watched several other videos and am 100% doing it correctly.
