i love how grub has absolutely zero standards... You have to figure out if the option you are setting needs to be Y, Yes, True or "True"

you should have at least one stable kernel as a backup takes up little to no space

Thanks for covering systemd-boot as well. Most people make guides like only GRUB exists, and that's neither accurate nor really helpful. Especially the "how to change kernel parameters" guides, they always go with GRUB only, like nothing else exists.

Thanks for this detailed and clear explanation!

Thanks for this video. I was so confused on this one. Most videos only show the grub update. The systemd update was what I needed.

I always use grub customizer and grub-update. Also dkms for Nvidia, Realtek and/or Broadcom are a must.

Afaik for compiling the kernel yourself you just need to run one script that leaves only your hardware enabled

Thanks for the video!

Thank you for this tutorial. I installed lts kernel by default through arch-install script. I intentionally choose systemd-boot as bootloader because recently GRUB boot loader created headache for many uefi system, I also a victim. So I decided to shift to systemD-boot. but Grub related tutorials are so many in internet compared to systemd-boot. SO I had an anxiety if my systemd-boot failed how can I recover my desktop. Hope you will make a tutorial on this topic. What will I do when the lts kernel come to "End of life"? Will pacman automatically download next LTS? or I have to manually install it?

anything not already built into the kernel I always use dkms most certainly Nvidia just makes kernels upgrades so simple.. also to be honest the main reason I use Zen is because of the ACS patch for virtualization, run a gaming VM and need it for some the devices I passthrough to KVM. other then that IMO its best to stick to stock kernel unless you have some use case with another kernel

All that boot configs are not really neccessary. Install 'dracut', run 'dracut --uefi' and you've done. It generates boot EFI image(s), systemd-boot detects it automatically, no configuration needed. Then you can just remove your old legacy boot configs, and 'mkinitcpio' package too.

So I created a conf file for linux-rt, but everytime I boot it crashes while booting, at different stages. It managed to make it to the DE once, and ran smoothly, but when I restarted it it crashed again. How do I fix this?
