I know having a business isn’t for everyone, but as far as black men I know it’s hard in corporate America and can cause a lot of mental health issues and feeling out of place in life. Just knowing how to run a business and having that to fall back on is such a great asset to have as a black man.

I am facing this right now in my corporate job, its tough, they promoted everyone around me. and left me in my spot, while my portfolio is stronger than some of the others.

Anything you want in life you have to take it. If they don't want you eating at there table build your own.

I’m a 70 year old Black male retired with 44 years in corporate America and you are so correct, I’m glad it’s over for me, Great job on speaking the truth!

We're stalked at the workplace, and they also stalk our phones know who we are and they watch us through our phone cameras and at work.. It's always self-defense for us for any issues. Far as a promotions I really dont know about that. They also steal our ideas and learn from us. You'll e shocked if someone told you what's really going on. It gets frustrating for me because I hear it all and see it all....I get annoyed most of the time and try to keep to my self.

I think you’re right about them not trusting black male leadership. I remember when this used to be a problem in the NFL, with the lack of black quarterbacks. It wasn’t until recently when we started seeing more black quarterbacks

Been at the Director level for several years despite running circles around my VP level and C-Suite coworkers. I’m the go-to person in the org when big problems arise, but there has recently been a lot of hesitation to come to me for help. There’s definitely a resentment about needing my input to drive action/resolution in so many different areas (Finance, Ops, Marketing, Planning, Systems, etc). Strongly considering opening a consulting firm to get away from the glass ceiling I’m stuck under. I could change up my “straight shooter” approach a bit to make people comfortable, but part of what makes me good at what I do is that I don’t play the games.

I totally agree. I was working in finance and was told that i would be promoted but they ended up promoting a Mexican girl and had the nerve to ask me to train her! I quit on the spot! I got out of corporate america, went and got a CDL and now i just tell these companies when I want to work and what I will and won't do. I'm working towards starting my own bus company. Can't really see myself giving my life to another corporate job again.

You hardly see black men as supervisors or lead jobs when in reality we make better decisions

Unless you own the corporate business, we have no business in corporate America.

Nothing tells the truth like eyes will. I see exactly what you are talking about at work and it makes sense

I am African and lived in Dallas for a decade - observed this within a few months! I'll add to say, 'UNLESS and until Africa is successful we'll never be respected GLOBALLY. And I am truly sorry us Africans have you let you guys down...Do you think a economically-strong, nuclear-powered Africa, we'd still be talking about BLM?? That's the root of the problem...

I tried to get promoted when I was in my prime, but that didn't work. I actually tried to get promoted, talking to a wyt manager who had Mississippi mutton chop sideburns and a life sized cut out of G.W. Bush in his office - He actually said, "How do I know you aren't doing well just to get promoted?" That job ended in my eventual termination as I didn't conform to office politics well enough...

You just earned a new subscriber brother. Never looked at the household perception comparable to the corporate progression standpoint.

Same happened to me in IT.. they put me through all the management classes and leadership courses for a year and had me lead all the major projects … just to open a position for supervisor and then make me go through 2 8 panel interviews and then hire some goofy middle aged white male who’s resume didn’t even stack up to mine … they will never promote a young black male in a all white corporate society… so I applied at another company for my current role and they are going to pay me double what I was making… and now that new supervisor they hired over me is hating life and stressed out…. There is a reason for everything… but yes white corporate is no place for the black male or female … build your own empire ….

Black men could barely get jobs in Corporate America, let alone get promoted.

Can you do videos telling black men how to file discrimination lawsuits against these employers for not promoting them like they do other demographics?

Politics = Discussions about the distribution of resources.

Resources = Tangible and intangible materials and conditions used to sustain or improve physical and psychological quality of life

Power = The ability to affect change

"Black" People = Socio-political engineered characterization of humans who are politically placed into conditions of low social value, perpetual dependency, and denied the ability to control any of the resources needed to improve the quality of their psycho-social lives.

Racism/White Supremacy - A global system of people who classify themselves as "white" and are dedicated to mistreating and/or subjegating everyone in the known universe, who they consider not "white."

The definitions are either true or not, and the conditions either exist or they don't.

You make the call...

I needed this video bro. I am a vet, started school while I was in. I started working at an accounting firm where I was the minority in my office 1 of the 3 black persons there. They didn’t bother to learn my name, I felt super uncomfortable stressed out and it took a toll on my mental health. When I put in my two week notice they stopped sending me projects and got mad when I would leave an hour early because I literally had no work to do. One of the partners told me two days before my last to just pack my things and leave.
