Binging with Babish: Krabby Patty from Spongebob Squarepants

The Krabby Patty is a thing of pop culture culinary legend - a burger, forged from a secret formula, worshipped by a sociopathically upbeat sponge. How do we go about recreating that which is not reacreate-able? A bit of science, a bit of whimsy, and a whole lot of wanton conjecture. Fill in the blanks with me this week as we build an umami burger using ingredients from mother ocean!

I always assumed the "secret ingredient" was the patty itself, which is beef, and you can't find that under water.

There was an episode where they showed the formula being made for the first time. Krabs or plankton knocked a lot of stuff of a shelf and it just mixed well

I love how fanciful the ingredients are in the second recipe and then... iceburg lettuce. Tells you how much raw power emanates from the crunchy water sphere that it needs no enhancements.

Also, Krabby Patties are confirmed to be made with 100% imitation crab, which is still a little weird, but where were they going to get meat underwater?
