I would say it depends on what do you want in the game.
I play for colect ships, and because of that it doesn't really bother me the economy, the gameplay, buffs, overpowered things, etc.
But for someone who wants to enjoy the gameplay, for sure that is not guaranted.
But hey, you may not found another game about naval warfare with the extreme details and experience that World of warships has right now.

Maybe it doesn't have the best gameplay or matchmaking, but if are you thinking in a game about ships shooting at things, this is the one you are looking for.

30 to 40 Battles and then Tier 10? I doubt that. As a beginner, thats pretty much impossible. You neither make the Silver nor XP in that time, unless you buy premium, premium ships and have tons of max tier Boosters

Play for free, dont buy anything, there are 150 free ships, and once in a while, u can get free premium ones and free doubloons!

No. It is not worth playing right now.
Gameplay is at its worst right now. New things are always locked behind lootboxes and astronomical amounts of money. Other currencies lost relevance, the quality of the playerbase took a nose dive to the point it is nearly impossible to find someone above 48%WR in ranked.

The problem with the game right now is all related to gen z, all the economic changes are made looking for them, getting into tier x without learning curve or effort is focused on them, ex. ptw mechanics like buying xp multiplayers for real money to get there quick, GW greed is big and we know that, there are 3 gens playing these game right now the one gen that hate effort and is quicker to use the credit card is Z, also gen z introduced their culture in the game making it way more toxic than before, we show a lot of games dying in the last 2 years for exact same reason and this one is not going to be different, before the rant that I already see coming from this comment I want to set things straight, I was beta tester, CC and also I am one of the oldest active accounts in NA server, EU server is the only server that will be the last to be shoot down in this game because the cultural differences.

There is no competition, so if you want to play a ship game you basically have no choice... i guess there is a good market for this kind of game, but WOWS manages to scare away new players super easily (CV, subs, no tutorial, hidden mechanics, hidden stats...)
