I try to reply often, but "I don't get step X" or "it doesn't work" is too unspecific and I can't help unless I know exactly what problem you have.

*COMMON FIRST LAYER PROBLEMS*
Step 1 & 2. If the side colors of the cross or first layer don't line up the way I showed it in the video, then you need to redo it. Pay attention to ALL of the colors on one piece, and don't just pick white pieces randomly. I talk about this in the video, how I'm trying to match the other colors of the white piece (like white/orange etc.)

*TAKING PIECES OUT OF THE SECOND LAYER*
Step 3. At 5:33 I say "you should already know how to do this". I admit this is unclear. You should insert a random yellow edge into the second layer using the same algorithm you use for solving the second layer. If this does not make sense, watch the example solve video linked at the bottom of this comment.

*COMMON TOP LAYER PROBLEMS*
Step 4. If you can only get 1 or 3 edge pieces of the top cross, you need to reassemble the cube as solved.
Step 5. There should be no problems here.
Step 6. If you ever get only 2 corners in the correct location, you need to reassemble the cube as solved.
Step 7. Finish the 4 moves (don't stop at 3) every time. Turn the bottom (don't rotate the whole cube) to get the next piece. If it STILL does not work, you need to reassemble the cube as solved.

"Why do I need to reassemble the cube?"
Randomly assembling the cube only has a 1/12 chance of being solvable. If you've ever taken the cube apart or twisted corner pieces, then that can be the problem. If stickers have been switched, you will have to switch them back.

*MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THE 4 MOVES*
1:52 has the 4 moves, and you have to be able to do this to understand what "4 moves" means when I use it again later on.

This probably doesn’t mean anything to anyone but this took me forever but I finally did it and I’ve never been more happy and proud

Found this video today. Solved it 3 times with the video helping me for each specific problem I’ve encountered. With about 6 hours of messing with it and messing up even with the video I put it down. 30 min later picked it back up and I was determined to do it without video. Finally did it & I have you to thank. Thank you cube god

Nothing hurts more than being on the last step and then messing up the algorithm

Oh, so this is how parents feel when you try to explain new technology to them.

I have spent so long thinking that i would never solve a rubix cube. This video helped me so much. Words can't explain the joy I got from solving the cube. Thank you so much. I subscribed because of this video.🎉🎉🎉

ty so much, this took me 10 minutes to solve if 10 minutes meant 6 hours and 34 minutes
but yeah, first time solving

I’m so thankful that I revisited this video after years. I was trying to solve a 4x4 for the first time and none of those tutorial videos explained how to solve it if I never ended up with a parity, or it just said “solve as you would a 3x3”. Here I am going back to the basics😅 Thank you J Perm!

I think this is the best Rubik's cube tutorial that I've seen on youtube.
Other ones I'd done just teach you algorithms to memorise and never really teach you how it works or why you do it.
But this basically breaks everything down and teaches you how and why you're doing.
Thank you.

I’m 70 years old. This is the first time I was able to solve the Rubik’s cube after I bought my first cube 35 years ago. Thanks😊

thank you so much for this! I've been trying other tutorials with the annotations and still had problems with the last part and I actually solved it this time using your tutorial! God bless you 🎉

Of all of the tutorials, this is the best. Thank you sir. I’m under 4 mins at this point, working on shortcuts now

I messed up the whole cube on the last step

him: “pay attention to how this works because if you mess up, you might have redo the whole thing” me *replaying this part for the 37th time*: “okay really pay attention this time”

Great tutorial. You’re the first person to teach me how this can be solved!
Solving it for the first time feels like finishing a videogame you really love….😭
