This month I blew 2 altnertors jumping cars with a battery pack that was like 90 bucks at Walmart 7 years ago. I used it in past nonoroblem with other cars. It was a 2009 pilot and 77 dodge van rv kind of car

wires in a puddle electrocuted? really? there's a reason cars run on 12V, such that even if you get electrocuted, you don't feel anything. It doesn't penetrate your skin. 220V inside the house is another story.
Actually 12V is the reason why it needs such thick wires, to compensate for low voltage.

I got a pretty decent amount of sparks when grounding the last negative, is this normal? There was some exposed wire on my cables due to -40 C weather but I had covered it with electrical tape.

When I was jumping up my Honda using my new Toyota, my Toyota was running while I was connecting cables to Honda. Did I cause damage(s) to Toyota since I was supposed to all cars off before starting jumping process?

I can not believe you showed a photo of someone connecting the black to the negative terminal post directly.
Positive to positive and chassis to chassis or you could cause a spark when you make that final connection directly on the (-) terminal post itself.

I've seen cables arc on other people's dead cars just because of improper jumping!! Never do that!
