The ground is coming up fast, like a huge mouth ready to swallow you. Your heart beats hard, and you can barely breathe. You try the parachute cord one last time, after many failed trials, hoping for a miracle, but nothing happens. Everything below is a blur of colors, getting closer every second. You see every detail, every shadow, as fear fills your whole body. You close your eyes for a moment, realizing this is it. You panic as you feel the strong pull of gravity and your final moments rush to greet you.

In today’s episode, we’re covering 7 wingsuit jumps that went horribly wrong. From a parachute that refused to open, to one that opened too late, to smashing into a ridge - buckle up, and as always, viewer discretion is advised.

Do you think Amber Bellows' tragic death was avoidable, or was it simply fate catching up to her dangerous sport?

I BASE jump from my bed every morning. Once, my chute failed to open. I went back to bed.

The only problem I have with this is you risk other people lives to rescue your ass once you hit the ground

If you need a challenge that puts you at your limits, why not try to be a firefighter, a nurse or a teacher?

As a mere human I have no idea why anyone would participate in these dangerous sports.

plain stupidity and selfishness, you may not care whether you end up splattered but somebody has to identify you, and someone is your parent, grandparent, sibling and/or loved one

We have very different definitions for what's tragic.

Tragedy in my mind, usually involves innocent people, unknowingly doing some, children, other persons unsuspecting or uninvolved.

While I'm heartbroken for their families, the actual participants get zero sympathy from me. They aren't risking life and limp to save a kid from a burning building, or running in after a school shooter. They're having fun and enjoying themselves. They know exactly what the risk is because there's literally only 2 viable outcomes.

There are a number of things I would have tried when I was younger, but this is not one of them!

Why do epitaphs always talk about "Zest for life"? You have to be suicidal to do these kind of sports!

They all thought "I love this. I'm OK. I know what I'm doing. Nothing will go wrong."

No sympathy. Just pity. What a stupid reason to die.

Base jumping is a bit safer than it used to be but if it goes wrong, it goes deadly wrong

So I'm never sure if AI is used with this unnamed voice over or in the selections of clips. But saying Richard moved to Florida and showing a static clip of air Canada doesn't make sense. I also note that many clips are not from the person being spoken about, there is a huge change in terrain, topography, and even seasons. The voice is used in numerous videos, in this one only once the voice said "I" as in first person. Though the narration seems to know what the topic person is thinking. The could be an AI voice over.

In my opinion, it's foolish to do these kinds of activities in the first place, BUT if successful in a particularly dangerous endeavor, ONCE why try to repeat?

When I was sky diving when I was young, my jump Master said something prior to my first jump that I remember to this day.
He said - always remember that you're trusting parachuting equipment that is made by humans so it can fail at anytime...so expect it to fail and be prepared to use your emergency chute immediately...

"The impact was so severe a DNA test was required to identify his body"

In other words he was reduced to mush. Wow.

Make career out of BASE jumping? What could possibly go wrong with the very fine idea? All them realized reality one cold, sober, millisecond before their demise.

Tragic, but it's like Russian roulete, just a matter of time.
