I would mention this can also occur from visual snow syndrome, which shoudn't be ruled out in traumatic brain injury or concussion.

My dad was an astronomer so he talked about rods and cones but i remember thinking when i was about ten years old that it would degenerate inevitably and i would need those red lights to save my night vision more and more often lol. C'est la vie.
