I got ridiculously lucky and found a prismatic shard on my first visit to the quarry, before I'd even unlocked the desert. What did I do with it? You guessed it... I donated it to the museum.

I was about to give my prismatic shard away as a gift, I’m so glad I saw this before I made a horrible mistake

My first play through was with my girlfriend and we actually not only found two Dino eggs in one day but within the same day found 2 prismatic shards, we turned one in and I bought us both the trusty Galaxy hammer or "me mallet" as my girlfriend so eloquently calls it.

Other alternative is dying immediately after finding a dinosaur egg and being so defeated you just sit there.

I got my first ostrich egg and put it in a chest. I later realized I could incubate it and get ostriches in my barn. My farm was very unorganized with many chests(I am organized now though) and I could not find my ostrich egg. I later realized while on the beach, I put it in the luau soup earlier that year.

I miss the old times when a wallpaper counted as prismatic shard so you could get unlimited best gifts for everyone after spending 30k on the catalogue.

LUCKILY, someone i knew was WAY farther in the game and she told me if i ever get a dino egg to not donate it and put in in the incubator

This was a very timely reminder for me, I just got my first prismatic shard in my new playthrough and I was debating what to do with it. Definitely wasn't going to be going to Gunther tho!
