lmao I frequently used these houses to make "tiny towns" with all the furnishings and even decorations outside, like paths to make streets, each house getting its own yard, and other stuff. I even try to make each house different, like it tells a story about the owners. It's a good end game goal when I have nothing else to do and I don't have any friends to play multiplayer with.

I do this. All three cabins upgraded, three bonus cellars for casks. You do have to slip into at least a mock co-op and use other farmers to upgrade those cabins though. You cant do it yourself because those are essentially other people’s homes - AND the other farmer must sleep in game for 2-3 nights to get each upgrade. You cant just log them off after they request the upgrades

The fact that those are subsidized for use as a home and you're committing fraud is very funny.

You forgot to mention how you can't upgrade them unless you play as the other players. And it takes 160, 000 to upgrade all the way. So you'll have to play as a spare character to get that money to upgrade the other houses. Cuz I saw this video and did it but I couldn't play as my character who already had $800, 000 I had to start a whole new character long enough to upgrade the houses. And you can't buy the upgrade and then log off you have to stay for the 3 days it takes per upgrade.

My cabins were mini sheds for me until basically the winter of my third year when I decided I was going to ridiculously up my preserves and keg operations. Now I use them for other machines like cheese presses and oil presses

I thought of this before but thought not doing it, now seeing this. It actually change my mind, especially the part you can upgrade the houses and better then a shed. I had no idea they were upgradable... I miss so much.

I just go onto local co-op, get another controller and upgrade the cabin, then use it for storage and I have about 3 on my farm as extra storage, yes it costs but it's efficient

What used to be cool about them too is that there was a time when you could take the tools out of the house & use them while you were upgrading the tools you already had.

Though, much like with the infinite coffee at the Night Market, it too was patched out. :(

I miss when they used to come with a set of tools. Those were so good to have on hand while Clint holds yours hostage to upgrade. You can still get a set but it involves a second controller on console.

I play on mobile. I know multiplayer is never planned for mobile but I'd love the chance to add cabins to a single player farm.

I also like to grab an extra set or 2 of tools, to have extras while upgrading but also to leave them where I'd use them, like have a watering can just for ginger Island caves

Also if you play with the ocean type farm, you get free boat decorations at the start of the game

Also extra cellar for your ancient fruit wines!

The main use for me has always been for the extra basements for more casks.
Also if you’re really cheap you can start a co-op session and just use a second controller/plug a controller into your pc and create a “new” character. They should spawn in their own cabin. Only thing is you’ll need to use that other character to upgrade their house, last time I checked only the “owner” of a house can purchase an upgrade for it.
