Okay hear me out.. I just listened to the album the first time. I took a long walk with my dogs. I was walking on a small way and listened to "Something Whispered Follow Me" as a shooting star went over my head. It was a magical moment. 😊
Beside that little story.. I LOVE the album. It's exactly how I expected it to be.

The chorus to Hiraeth made me cry. I’m 31 and have lived with chronic depression since I was 15 and that song has really touched me on a day when I needed an emotional release. Thanks Nightwish…you wonderful fuckers 🥹😢

For me Yesterwynde, as with all Nightwish creations has taken multiple listens for things to fully form, take shape and a rounded opinion to be arrived at. I initially thought that the album was too light, not in keeping with the Nightwish of old as some are saying but that was due to me listening to the individual songs in isolation from each other. I do prefer some songs over others but the whole album when listened to and digested as one body of work is superb with my favourite song being the one playing in my ears at any given time. Nightwish are evolving, but they are still Nightwish and I love that. 🙏😊👍♥️

Like I thought this album is missing Hietala. Like it or nor he was integral piece if this band. I have mixed reaction but it is only first listen

Like all Nightwish albums, you just cannot judge YESTERWYNDE from a single play, although my impressions are so far very favourable. Oceans of Strange Islands, is in my humble opinion the best track, although there are a number of very good tracks. THIS IS VERY HEAVY. I like that!

This album requires multiple listens. Listen to it once, grab lyrics and listen again. It's pretty amazing! A lot of hidden touches in songs you can miss.

Need to give most of them a few more tries but which nailed it directly were Children of Ata and Spider silk.
Unfortunately Floors voice is to quiet on every song.

What an absolutely incredible album! Even after just one listen, I’m blown away. What a fantastic way to conclude the trilogy. I think this time, a lot of people will feel like they got what was missing in the last two albums. There’s a noticeable upgrade in composition style, with plenty of unpredictable twists, blending new and old elements (DPP, Angels Fall First, Imaginarium). It’s fascinating how the first two singles didn’t fully capture what the album truly offers. Hearing Floor sing on “Lanternlight” was such a pleasant surprise! I’m extremely happy with this release🥰
