How To And How Not To Run a School Board

In the last Dayton Public School board meeting of 2017, Reverend Robert Walker in his final meeting as president, showcases that he has no clue of what he's doing- and the proposed next board president, rookie school board member Reverend William Harris- follows his lead down the wrong path. This is just after veteran Board Member John McManus stressed that board meetings need to be run effectively. Thanks to Dr. Hazel Rountree for leaving her mic open and sharing the classic "This is so embarrassing. David Esrati is gonna eat us alive" quote.
Frankly- my goal wasn't to eat you alive, but to get this board to clean up its act.

Why would you need to be on the losing side to request a re-vote based on the possible confusion of others? That might be a win in the moment, but open to contention & a reversal/re-vote order, after (more than likely) a out fight & headache. No matter what side people are on, all involved should be insistent on clarity of the topic amongst all voters, as well ensuring the correct info has been (at a minimum), made available for public review. While there’s no need to make sure the entire population truly understands, which would be impossible, they have an obligation to be as transparent as allowed under the circumstances & want a win that’s a REAL win. That first guy was trying to do just that.... remove the wool, and was shot down by someone who should have addressed it themselves to begin with. How shameful.

This is sad. Children in the national honor society learn parliamentary procedure. If the board has any dignity they should make McManus the president and Walker needs to take a nap.
