Turning a Vase using Monkey Puzzle Wood - with a Surprise

So I was walking down the street the other day and a tree trimming crew was cutting down a tree that was very unusual for the area. I asked them what type of tree is that and he told me it was a Monkey Puzzle... I said excuse me a what? He repeated himself and said No really it's a Monkey Puzzle tree. So I asked he if I could please have a couple of pieces, He said sure take all you want... I had no idea what I was going to do with it but it looked cool. After taking it home I put a little piece on the wood lathe to see how it would turn and it turned nicely. The knot were hard but also every interesting. They all are basically at the same level and all the way around the tree, it also seems like there is always 5 branches around.. Knowing that the wood was turnable a decided to cut off a larger piece a make a Vase. As I was was trying to get the wall of the Vase as thin as possible I noticed that the inter part of the knots were a little translucent with an orange tint to them. So now the Vase just turn into a candle holding vase...
