Woodturning | Monkey Puzzle Exploded Log Vase

In this woodturning video I attempt to turn a monkey puzzle log into an exploded wooden vase. Monkey puzzle is really cool, it has branches growing through the entire log which gives it a really interesting look.

The log I was given had a hole drilled all the way through it, I'm not sure why, I almost didn't turn it, but then I figured I would cut out the hole and dry out the pith. Then I channelled my inner Doug Moore - Pohl Barn Productions and I essentially 'exploded' the log then filled it with resin. This is the result!

It is my first deep hollowing and it was a challenge for me. I was pretty happy with the overall result and love the texture and warm tones of the monkey puzzle wood. What do you think??

LOL great video, not a fan of the music, I never was when I used it either, machine sounds I like and so do most people. voice over works good it saves time I should start doing that. lol ( it's your video Claire do it as you like, that's my final answer !!!! ) the project turned out great and as always I give a thumbs up !
