Just applied bit of elbow grease via a virgin Colgate medium bristle brush as per your suggestion. Also, how strange that manufacturers don't create a little swivel cover for the charging port. Just saying.

I fixed my problem before I found you guys. I just restarted my phone and now it's charging. Galaxy A01. However, if this happens again, I will be so pissed as this phone is only a month old! It's good to know I can refer to your video and web site for help. Never thought about the toothbrush method. I've never had a charging issue with a new phone. I'm praying to the Payette Forward gods that this is not going to be an on going problem. Great vid!

The toothbrush method helped a lot. Before, even if I had it on a flat surface and plugged it in, I'd have to move the charger around to find just the right angle, and if I moved my hand away, it would stop charging. Now, the charger stays in the port without me holding it. It'll still come loose if I try to use it, but...progress. At least it's not losing power while it's plugged in anymore. lol

Thank you so much! My s20+ woke me up making weird noises (I think it was trying to restart and did the startup vibrate over and over). It was dead. The power button and volume down trick wasn't working and I've got a busy day in the morning so was less than happy... then I tried the toothbrush and everything started working! So relieved

Thanks for the video! I just tried this on my Samsung Galaxy S10 and Step 1 worked!!
I was about to go to the repair shop thinking my charger port needed replacing AND had a wireless charger in my checkout basket just in case.
