Simple car rigging setup #shorts
Показать описание
Simple car rigging with a suction mount and my Lumix GH6.
😅 It’s always a bit harrowing to stick $5000 worth of equipment on the outside of a moving vehicle but over time I’ve learned to trust my car mounting setups.
🤔 When mounting a camera to a car there are a few things you want to consider:
- Is the surface clean and dust free?
- Is the surface flat enough to accept a suction mount
- How many suctions do I need for the weight of the camera?
- How do I dampen vibrations?
- How can I safety rig a chain in-case it falls off?
✅ This is the checklist I go over in my mind every time I’m rigging to a vehicle and because of proper due diligence I’ve never had a camera fall on to the road.
For bigger setups like this GH6 I opted for a 3 suction mount which provides a strong attachment to the car.
Because of the truly amazing stabilization of the GH6, I didn’t require any additional vibration dampening to get steady shots.
For smaller setups like an action-camera or phone, you can get away with a single suction mount.
If you want to start rigging cinema camera setups on to a vehicle, you want to use bigger pump-cups over standard suction mounts.
Have you guys ever tried car rigging yourself? Let me know of any success (or horror) stories in the comments below 👇
