I'm so glad I came across this video after watching it I'm comfortable with dialing in my mixture screw on my icebear Hawkeye 150cc scooter it dies on idle and at every stop sign I messed with my idle screw but anything lower then 3, 500rpm it will die out I'm always having to keep it alive at idle by twisting the throttle from time to time but long story short I'll definitely adjust my air mixture screw and play with its idle tomorrow in Hope's to dial her in ...😁👍

The adjustment on the left side you are adjusting first is the the enrichment, not idle. That adjusts the air/fuel. You really don’t need to fiddle with that, much, you’ll know whether you’re too rich or lean by checking the plug periodically that’s more important than how the engine sounds. The idle adjustment is on the top right where you did start to adjust, generally on scooters with gy6 engines you adjust until the wheel just starts to turn on the center stand. Scooters are plenty fun and good transportation if you take care of them, good luck.

I think whats also helpful is that when the bike is on center stand and you are adjusting the throttle screw you want you back wheel to just slowly start to spin on its own. you def. dont want the wheel spinning fast or not at all. just a slow rotation and rpm at idle should be between 700 and 1000

All of you suggesting richening the air fuel screw to turn up the idle, including the guy in the video are incorrect. The idle speeds up as you lean it out until it dies.

Set your fuel mixture screw first to it’s highest possible idle, THEN adjust your throttle idle screw... If the fuel mixture screw is turned out more than 4 turns to reach highest idle than you have the wrong size pilot jet and it should be increased in size. If you turn the fuel mixture screw less than a turn to reach highest idle than the pilot jet should be decreased in size... Turning the fuel mixture screw all the way in should kill the engine and if it doesn’t than the pilot jet is to rich (Large)... Your approach is very Elementary and not ideal for the best possible performance...

Video is a bit all over the is how you tune a carb, to find the best main jet you may have to play around, but the best main jet it what gives you best best pull and top end smoothly, thats how you know you found the right jet, , , , you tune a carb in this order, , main, pilot, needle, mixture screw, always tune top must find the right main jet always, , , incorrect main can effect carb the bike warm and turn idle down low, then by adjusting the mixture screw, choose the setting that gives you the highest, smoothest idle, once you have found that turn the idle screw back to 1.5k ish garrison has some good info here as well, , , Ive worked with dyno tuners for morotcycles and ive tuned many myself, this is basic SOLID tuning advice
