So, we did a thing, we bought a house in Hua Hin... Pranburi actually, but really close to Hua Hin.

Congratulations Dave & Kim on your home purchase. The real beautiful thing about the purchase is that there was no 30 to 60 day escrow. When we purchased our home, we paid cash and we got the keys that day. America is so far behind the rest of the world. Land lease is awesome.

Belated congratulations on the new house! Coming to Thailand next month for my first visit and plans are to move there in early 2026 after retirement and then travel East Asia for as long as I can. I’ve been researching my move for two years now, and it’s good to hear about the leasing option, that’s a load off my mind for when I finally decide where I want to live. It's nice to hear successful relocation stories like yours, thanks for sharing your experience. My husband and I are considering retiring in Thailand as well and this info. is super helpful! My husband's step mother-in-law is Thai and lives here in California (as do we) but still has lots of family and friends back in Thailand. We've been to Hua Hin w/ her and just loved it! I'm also a Realtor her in California, so loved hearing your take on the market in contrast to the states. Hope to see more updates from you and congrats on your purchase and retirement!

It was our first time to visit and me and my wife are already planning our return trip. Definitely the best Resort we have been to and can't wait to return.
