Thank you SO MUCH for all your wonderful comments ❤ Just to clarify: I'm not going to stop travelling or creating adventure films, but I do hope to find a way to split my time between travel (which I still love), and my new home (which I now also love). Very grateful to all of you for being here and making this dream possible. You are by far the best community I could have ever wished for.

I also feel that Carpathian Mountains from Romania are the most magical mountains I’ve seen on the planet from Europe to Asia.Good luck with your project.

I am 83 years old and spent most of my life travelling. Even by the time I was 20 I had lived in three different countries and had probably seen 20 more. As a journalist, I again lived and worked in a number of different countries (nine, in fact) and visited 40 or 50 more. Between the ages of, say, 30 and 70 I never stayed anywhere for longer than a year. I speak five languages (English is not my native language) which is handy when you're on the move all the time. I cannot stay in one place, and if anyone asked me "how are you?" my standard reply for years was "fine, as long as I know I won't be here this time next year!" That's all come to an end now and I live in Australia, more or less by accident. I seem destined to be here until I call it a day, but there are worse places, trust me. Anyway, talking about Poland, the first time I saw it I "hated" it. It seemed grey and sombre and uninviting. But then I came back a couple of times more and, like you, I suddenly saw what I had missed the first time: Poland is unbelievably beautiful. Warsaw may not be the most attractive capital city in the world, but then again Stockholm didn't impress me, either. For the record, I found Poles seemed unversally nuts, but in a good way. I wish you luck as a brand-new landowner and rather think that after all your travels (yes, I've been following you for a while now), I'm sure you will have no regrets. If this has ended up being longwinded, I apologise...

I had a similar experience. From Ireland but moved to Japan and Korea but ended up wanting to be back in Ireland, now here I am again.

You are living my dream! I also emigrated from Poland (but to the US) and am looking to buy land back in Poland now as well (around Gdansk however). I had a grudge as well and have since fallen completely back in love with Poland. Congratulations!

A beautiful lady, with a beautiful soul, on beautiful land, with a beautiful attitude and love of the land and life. Eva gives me hope for the future. We should all be more like her!

23 years ago when I moved to the UK from South Africa I swore I would never go back. When I met my husband (also South African) I told him " just understand, I am never going back to Africa"
And yet, today, my parents are driving around looking at land for us to buy and build a homestead in South Africa 🤷‍♀️
Never say never.
Congratulations Eva, may the God who created you, and everything on this glorious planet bless you, and bless your soul.

I'm Spanish and I have been to Poland Krakow, Zakopane and all this area and I personally loved it !! I think Poland is such a beautiful country full of lovely people and places to visit with a lot of history 💖 I think anyone on their right mind would be happy to live in such a beautiful place full of woodlands and mountains :)

As a child back in 1984 I spent a couple weeks in the Romanian Carpathian Mountains and it was magical!!!
I’m going to visit this year again at the end of August. I’m 48 years old now and it will bring back some wonderful/beautiful memories.

Great news, maybe you should build a Yurt on your land?, quick & easy to set up to allow you longer term thinking on how you develop the rest of your land?

I am so happy for you Eva. I fell in love with Poland when I visited last fall. Got off the train in Krakow and just felt welcomed.

I think the world is slowly learning what a beautiful country Poland is, and how strong and proud the Polish people are. Being Polish is something to be proud of.

Wow girl, your story is so amazing!! I've been thinking about buying land in my home country rather than in the UK where I also grew up. I'm so happy that you've reconnected with your homeland and culture. The UK often has such a negative view on immigrants that many of us that grow up there end up forgetting how beautiful our home countries are. You're an inspiration! Congrats on becoming the guardian of a little piece of the earth <3

I'm an American and I know that area of Poland really well. My grandparents are from there and I have family there still. The Poles have been a brave and stalwart people who fought to recover from WW II and then only to live under the boot of Communism. They have reinvented themselves yet again, building a strong economy, saving their cultural assets for future generations, developing modern ecological policies, and best of all, saving their family farms while here in the U.S. our farmers are being run out of business by corporate interests. There are large communities of Poles here in the U.S., just not in wilderness areas, which is what you were really looking for. The Carpathians were the absolute best choice for you. Open space. Fresh air. Four seasons. Uncrowded. I know that you will love it there. xoxo Suzi

I grew up in the UK during the 90s (since 1990) as well and am about the same age as you. I never thought I'd move back to Slovakia and here I am! :) Just feels like home and where I belong despite the UK being very nice and having grown up there. I also bought some land here this year with my wife (her maiden name is Zubek 😄 ), in the mountains of central Slovakia. Apparently we have our own bear living on or near it! Enjoy your land, Poland is a beautiful country. I might bump into you in Nowy Targ some day at the market 🤣
