I haven’t noticed a massive change or anything from 10.8 either but it did have some notable confidence in corners where previously it was quite a bit slower. It’s been Killin it with customers but I’m ready for .9 and v11 for sure. I want that full stack integrated

Looking at how many calculations are required to drive effectively speaks volumes about how amazing the human brain is. We perform billions of calculations a second without giving a thought.

This is like an addiction. I am so excited and can’t wait for the update to come, and when it arrives, can’t wait for improvements of the next one to come. Thanks for your review, it always helps me wait for my turn to get my update.

You’ve got a big storm coming at the end of the week. Can you do a video of how it drives in the snow storm, if safe? Thanks.

Great video as always! I would love a video that compares chill mode to non-chill mode. For some of the turns (especially the unprotected left) it seems possible that the car would do way better being told to be a bit more aggressive.

It is really impressive how far they have come and it is also really impressive with how much more work they have to do.

Great Video as always. I have been in Autopilot jail 2x for going faster then 80 on AP. And before anyone gets upset at me going 85mph, I remind you Interstate 130 in Texas on the Southern Portion going to San Antonio has a 85 MPH speed limit. And Tesla doesn't like that. But I went and checked and it says I have no dings. So I guess while it does remove it for the rest of the drive, its not the same as not paying attention.

You are very critical. FSD does almost everything correct. Being a little hesitant or the wheel going a little bit back and forth when taking a corner. Why is that a problem? It makes the corner perfectly fine. I think you should not put your own way of driving on the FSD.
Also, i think it is good for FSD to "wait" until the car in front is really out of the way before accelerating. You get a big problem if you accelerate and suddenly the car in front stops his turn...

What’s funny is that I have 10.8.1 also and still watch these videos

Thanks for this - informative video! I just updated to 10.8.1 this morning. I didn’t realize that you’re able to press the accelerator if the car is being overly cautious and it won’t knock it out of FSD. I had stopped using FSD as much due to how timidly the car would turn.

Good test. Hope to see more turns with oncoming traffic to get a better feel for improvement in next test runs.

Thanks for making this video. FSD is definitely nowhere near FSD. Could barely make it around some simple streets.

Be honest being an unpaid instructor must be more stressful than just driving it yourself.

It's interesting to see that while it does improve in certain areas, others get take massive steps back. It's incredible that you post these because it gives us the ability to truly see the progress as well. As for most customers, I think we should probably not buy the FSD package after the price increase since FSD might be ready after the car is sold haha!

Great narration of how the drive feels. Glad to see others experiences are similar to mine.

Didn't Tesla say you need to keep your hands on the steering wheel to achieve a certain safety score ?

Good area to test it in! I do have a question though. Ive driven my parents Model Y with FSD and whenever I try to take my hands off the wheel in FSD the driver gets a warning saying there is no tension on the wheel when I take my hands off. I dont see you getting that warning at all, is that an S/X thing due to the yoke?

I want to get that steering replace on my 2020 model S but not sure how it feel when using it.

Agree the lane centering seems excessive. It should use the center line and base it’s positioning off that.
