Tesla FSD Beta 10.8 - Revisited (Getting Better)

We take another drive with Tesla FSD Beta 10.8 after some additional driving and camera recalibration and see how it fairs. Will it pass a busy roundabout test?

That's why I prefer not to watch most people's '1st Impressions' Videos....appreciation comes after at least a week and multiple drives of testing. Expectations are always looking for improvements, some of which don't get realized. As with normal Autopilot....the real appreciation comes as you gain experience....which causes many (especially me) to never have another car without Autopilot. Thanks for continuing to test.

Very comfortable driving since 5 cars and 7 years that’s amazing man I've been on FSD for 3 months and last week I did my first risky downtown I have to trust it more

I love how you stress the importance of everyone needing to be comfortable and have confidence more than anything, to the point of being able to fall asleep and wake up at your destination. My 2020 Model X long range plus got the beta installed just two days ago but because of heavy snow in Flagstaff Arizona I haven't taken it out once. Might be a few more days, might be tomorrow we'll see.

I like the thought that you put into it, but when a lane is CREATED, there is no need to signal. That includes when a turning lane is created, but not a dedicated turn lane.

I agree with you when it's pulling out from a parked condition. It should signal first.

You got it - feeling comfortable as a passenger is what's important. If the car drives like a 16-year-old with a new learner's permit, it probably won't crash, but I'm not going to use it. Embarrassment is another factor: I don't use "navigate on autopilot" because it embarrasses me. So I actually need both comfort and sophistication. On the other hand, I only need the car to drive itself in boring situations.

Level of comfort/Confident: difficult to measure. You have top put this in perspective. How confident are you as a human is driving and you are sitting next to him/her.
So, I guess FSD does not have to be perfect. It should only be better than humans. And that is not really difficult i guess...:-)

At one point you said it didn't signal when it didn't need too. When a lane splits you don't signal you just merge to the correct lane. Also when on a shoulder you don't have to signal to start off. You may do that but it is not necessary driving etiquette. Some of those points are your driving style and I think that is where the issue comes in. Still great video.

10.6.1 and 10.8 have been great for me. Practically no random slowdowns compared to previous builds, especially in the dark (where it previously struggled).
