I just got through trying it and restarting. I came back to say thank you for the information. Chrome is back to normal running speed. Now I do not have to download another browser.

Oh my gosh thank you for this! My chrome was running really slow to the point where it would take two minutes to download a jpg image. This helps a lot!!

I followed the 2nd step. After doing the dns flush and the winsock reset, I restarted my computer like you instructed, and - voilà! - Chrome was back to normal.

*Everything* was painfully slow including file explorer. Some programs wouldn't launch at all and I began to think I had a virus! Who would have known Chrome was the culprit? Ugh! Thanks @MDTechVideos. It worked like a charm.
