"Not fighting what we hate, saving what we love." Said Rose after she stopped Finn from saving what he loved. Not a moment later, the barrier protecting her Resistance friends gets destroyed, dooming them to the First Order's impending massacre. Rose gave Finn an unsolicited kiss, confusing him. Finn stared in silence, pondering whether or not he should report Rose's sexual harassment to Resistance HR. But Finn soon realized that most of the HR are dead and what's left of them will soon be. Meanwhile, Rose pretend to be unconscious in order to avoid any immediate consequences of her actions.

According to the audio commentary on the Blu-Ray, Rian Johnson said this was intended to be a fake scare for the audience. Finn about to sacrifice was supposed to make the audience begin to feel worried. Apparently, Rose saving him was meant to be a big sigh of relief from the audience. What a stupid idea.
