In modern versions of Audacity, you can access the Wavedb option by right-clicking on the numbers immediately to the left of the audio track that go from 1 to 0 to -1. Thanks for this, you've saved me hours of work removing every bit of breathing sound throughout very long videos!

Cheers. Saved me a tonne of time. Audacity didn't have Noise Gate by default so I downloaded Nyquist noise gate plugin, dropped the ny/nf file in the Audacity plug-ins folder, then activated it from the Effects menu.

Thanks. Even 7 years later, you still help a lot of people solving their breathing sound issues.

This really helped me out. I always had breathing in my videos that annoyed me let alone the viewers I that watched them. This really helped out greatly. Thank you.

Thank you so much, old bean, I was hissing, snorting, and farting like a steam engine, my neighbours thought it was a symphony orchestra. Cheerio!

Editing some audio for a 1.5 hour podcast man, this is sure saving me a lot of time.

I really appreciate the help. I'm new to audacity and voice recording, and my heavy breathing was driving me crazy. I think getting comfortable talking into the mic will have to happen at some point, but for now at least I can use audacity to help me along.

Awesome, thanks for doing this, it will really help me with my audio. My lavalier mic records really loud no matter where I have it so I get loud breathing pretty much throughout recordings, this is working for my audio even during outdoor recordings. 4+ years and this is still a super helpful video, timeless.

Thank you so much for this! I knew there had to be some simple software or plug-in to do this, but it took a surprising amount of googling before I found this video. This is *exactly* what I need, and you've saved me dozens or even a hundred hours of work by pointing out this plugin. Thank you!

Noise Gate is an external plugin that integrates with Audacity. The Audacity version whic I use can deliver equal results like Noise Gate as shown in the video by simply selecting the Noise Reduction option and highlighting the breath spikes . Thanx!

Took a bit of time to get right but in the end, playing around with the noise gate settings I finally got the proper one - of course some breathing was still audible but like you said, it seems natural to have a bit of breathing as long as it's quite and unintrusive - thanks for the help :D
