#RhyncolaelicattleyaPastoralInnocence #RotharaYokosukaStory #SemiHydro
My inner pot broke in Feb '20 while soaking my Pastoral 'Innocence' during the flushing regime. As it was the wrong time of year to do anything drastic, ie, a full clean up, all I did was pot the orchid up into a bigger pot, and wait for the right timing to take care of it properly. The time has come, it is growing roots and we are good to go with a major overhaul of the root ball. While I am at it, I also take a look at my #SergioaraYokosukoStory & it too can be divided 👍🏼 It was a very windy day, so I apologize for the sound quality when the wind carries my voice away. I hope it is not too annoying!
I really appreciate the fact that you took the time to watch my video. I am very open to any comments or questions, this video may have brought up. 🦒🦒 Helloooo 🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️ All in a day's work. you made 4 out of 2, all with roots 👌 Those roots are going crazy and the way you clean and trim them up at the adequate time is fantastic. I am sure they will show their appreciation for that extra aeration around the roots restored.
Have a great day my darling friend, mingi hugs and happy orchiding 🤗🤗🤗🤗

Works continue, just for painting part of the inside of the house they are making so much dust, hard to beleive where it comes from 😫
Olivia still in hospital, she does not eat by herself. Eco and TAC do not show what the problem is. Vet purposed: plan A open her up to explore and see directly what the problem is and analize with a biopsy; plan B continue to medicate her with anti inflamatories intravenously.
My daughter and I thought about it and decided she will stay in hospital, continue with medication and see if she if she reacts. We would so much prefer to bring her home where she would be a lot happier but if she does not eat how can I manage with food and meds? I have been there with my cat Bolota that died last year, it was a nighmare for both of us (cat and myself). If Olivia does not react with this treatment it would mean she has something bad and opening her up would only cause her suffering, months of recovery. and chemotherapy which is absolutely out of the question. We beleive in life with quality, we are not keeping her suffering just for the sake of beeing alive. I am visiting her everyday, she is missing her naps under the sun or in the shade of a flower pot but what can we do but have patience and hope for the best?

I have to get better about paying attention to when it’s appropriate to repot the few I have in semi hydro. I have tendency to just do things as they occur to me and I don’t think about when it would be best for the orchid.
With the amount of root growth on my Cattleya’s this season I’m going to have to put some serious thought into upsizing from my current set up. Not a bad problem to have but it will require some thought.

"one leca bead at a time"
you're crazy 😉 . I guess maybe if I was more careful, a la ninja, I wouldn't suffer so much root attrition after a repot. But I'm impatient and brutal. Maybe the coconut husk will be more friendly when it comes to removing old media and repotting. Time will tell!
