To be honest, I can't really tell a difference between all these strings...but I'm consistently blown away by the playing.

I've been "playing bass" for about 45 years now. Never seen this level of playing in my life. And to boot, such a nice guy. We're all blessed that you decided to share with us your passion and talent . thank you.

I think the coolest things about these neon strings under the black light is that it truly highlights how much movement is in the strings when they're vibrating!

If being funky was a crime, this man would have a life sentence. Good shit dude

Not brown nosing or anything. But in my almost 40 years of life, I do t think I have seen bass skills on your level. I mean Victor wooten and les Claypool yes. But, you only hear their strong points for their style of music. You are all over the place with metal, funk, jazz, classical, etc etc. Truly amazing

You know, I don't know how many people tell you this, but your muting is godlike. I pay attention to the string vibration (and these strings really show it) and I don't think I see a note lasting past its intended duration, no dissonance created by another wayward string when you hit the big open E's, just perfection. The rest of it is really great, but there's a reason that the notes you don't play in bass are just as important as the ones you do. Incredible control.

I think it's safe to say this guy is one of the best in the world.

I showed this to my bass teacher. He quit and we are both learning to play the triangle now.

I've been playing drums for 40 years. Dude when I hear you play I just smile. I would never insult you and say you play like this or that guy. You play like Charles Berthoud. So refreshing and I love your style and approach to such a great instrument. Thank you!

I don’t even know how that’s possible to play so well. Absolutely amazing.

I am overwhelmed. I would never have thought that something like this is possible on a bass. Simply incredible in the truest sense. And above all: Not only technically world class, but also mega musical. I don't even know what to say about it, I almost have to cry with enthusiasm. Simply unbelievable that you can play so perfectly and beautifully at the same time!

I don't get how this is possible. I haven't heard anyone from superstar players, professionals or amateurs being able to play like this. It's like another era of bass playing. It's just ridiculous how good he is.

The string and bass combinations are simply endless for you man! It's always a treat to see what insane tricks are up your sleeves next!

For all of the credit that Charles gets for being an amazing player, he's also an amazing writer, and his arrangements (original or covers) are all top notch.

I've seen this a thousand times. The combination of melody, ghost notes, flapping the e-string and just pure technical excellence from 00.30-00.45 is - without a doubt - the most funky, fantastic, most melodic bass playing I have ever listened to. Wauv.

Definately this most camera friendly strings you have used. You sound funky as hell as always, but they also support a visual aid as a listener

He is so clean, he sounds like the demos that come programmed into sequencer keyboards.

Wow this is totally what I needed to hear today I'm down with health issues and hearing this makes me think of old-time video games back from like the Super Nintendo era and stuff! :)

Gotta love it when a melody goes exactly where you're expecting it to go. This is one of the best bass solos I've ever heard.
