I love how you talk about weather when you live in Malta, I live in London try play regular tennis here and there are not that many indoor courts that are accessible let alone affordable.
I like your story about falling in love with the game again, I played when I was a small kid and in high school than stopped for 15 years and took it up again.
Really good video with some great tips I will certainly consider them!

Absolutely perfect Jonas, what you describe has been my journey these last 2 years as I rediscovered the game after immersing myself in work too much. Keep up the great videos!

Outstanding content here, especially the advice about watching your playing on video. It's HUMBLING but entirely necessary if you wish to improve.

Keep the great videos coming, been watching every video for years now and have gladly watched TennisNerd continue to be a top YouTube channel and one of my personal favorites. ✌

I have a similar story, started around 13 y/o but never with a coach. That and few hitting partners make me drop it after 2/3 years. I'm 24 now and I'm getting back to it with my brother. Always loved the game, and now I am a tennis nerd. Cheers! From Argentina 🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷

I found your video playing indoors with an ATP level player testing Radical Pro I think, studying the ATP player particularly his open stance forehand so simple so consistent and powerful I have been trying to copy that simple action. I am left handed but serve right handed as I throw right handed. My serve was my weak part of my game now from ongoing study and practice it is one of my strongest shots. I now want to develop a right handed smash. From my study and practice of golf and now tennis my tip would be work most on your weaknesses that is the quickest way to improve and enjoy the game more. Thanks

These are very good tips, Jonas. One tip extra I feel is very important: learn to analyze by yourself what you did wrong with any shot you hit that wasn't good. Unfortunately, people who take lessons often rely on the coach to tell them what needs correcting. None of the coaches I've had over the years encouraged self analysis of strokes. But when you're playing a match you are on your own and can't rely on a coach to guide you. Likewise when you're practicing without a coach. And, when you are having a coaching session, write down all the pointers given to you; don't rely on your memory because you'll miss a lot of material in a coaching session.

Great tips. This video is a great guide to find fulfillment in the process. I think a lot of amatuer players need to set goals for themselves and use the goals to really achieve somthing. I feel everyone needs to apply goal setting to at least one main hobby. It can bring a deep sense of joy in achievement and a chance to try again in failure. Tennis is a perfect game of interest and depth to develop yourself in. I really love it! Thank you for your tips!

Thank you for the in depth answer.
Any suggestions for pre-match routine, strategy and tactics. Indoor season has started here in Canada and this year I will dedicate the majority of my court time to ladder matches. Summer for improvements

Very good tips. I started at 13. Stopped at 43. Started again 13 years later. At 56, took me 3 months to get my timing and strength back. my legs and my joints are definitely worn out.

I lost like 8kg over the summer and feel my game improve significantly. But I really loved the days I played random players in Miami, nowadays with kids around is less possible, but finally I can afford coaching. I guess that’s just life.

I started playing 2.5 years ago. Play 3 hours Tuesday, 3 hours Thursday and 2 hours Saturday (and more if I can fit it in). The amount I've improved is ridiculous.

Jonas, any supplement/vitamin/exercise you've been taking/doing to keep the knee joints in good health and keep playing/running to hit the ball after 50 yo?
