In a timeline where Maria survived the G.U.N. raid and grew up on earth. Though she doesn't support her cousin's evil schemes, she does however do stuff like a making a song about him to show her love.

I love how this is being sung in second person, it makes it sound like this is being sung by bard, telling the tale of a great evil

Ya know. Something like this should’ve been done for Sonic Forces.

Imagine this, after Sonic is defeated by Infinite, you see a montage of the world being destroyed, family’s taken from their homes or even killed, poor citizens being robotisized, and the world slowly turning into utter artificial misery. All while Eggman probably forces a pianist and a singer to perform this song to play on speakers across the word for the remaining survivors to hear, to tell them that there truly is no hope.

That is the kind of stuff that Sonic Forces needed, to show the un-pure horrors of war.

Why do I keep thinking of Eggman messing with the timeline to bring back Maria? .... *And then he brainwashes her and calls her “Eggette” . And this song plays when Shadow sees her.*

Edit: Now... *think of Maria standing in shadows... Laughing quietly.. and her new goggles glow in the dark..*
