Ask me any questions about EMT school that you have below. (Pre-PA, Pre-Nursing, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic Students)

I start EMT class tomorrow, wish me luck! I'll keep you all updated

*EDIT UPDATE*
I passed my EMT course and took both the national cognitive exam and national psychomotor exam this past weekend. I passed the cognitive exam on the first try (cut me off at 70 questions), as well as passed the psychomotor exam. Due to covid, the NREMT is granting provisional certifications for passing the cognitive exam, and (depending on the state), you are able to work with just that (although you must pass the psychomotor within the timeframe). Now I am an EMT!!! Thanks to all for the comments and support!!!

I failed my Fisdap Test on Trauma twice and I got dropped out of class. I ABSOLUTELY 1000% Agree that preparing before EMT class will give a much higher chance of passing. As he said, you never want to learn things from scratch especially in EMT. The best thing to do is read the book, do as much research, look at the slide shows the Orange Book. I may failed out, but this next time I'm going to prepare my best and start reading and studying the book now, and doing my research more effectively. I'm 100% going to purchase your program man. I WANT TO Be a Firefighter BAD

I am a week behind schedule, I just started EMT last week and received my text book from my department yesterday. I have my first test this week. I appreciate your willingness to help future medics, especially now that pretty much every state is on the National level. Thanks brother. Starting to binge your content asap.

I'm in my second week of EMT class. I started reading the book in October. It's been years since I've been in school so I knew I was going to need more time to understand the material. The part I struggle the most is medical terms & abbreviations. I know many already because of being in nursing for a decade. I'm hoping with a little bit of time I'll get it. Your video of blood flow in the heart was soo helpful! It finally clicked!! Thank you, thank you so much!!

My middle school/highschool teacher was a Vietnam Medic, so he taught us some pretty great stuff during a lot of his classes, so I’m pretty happy that some basic things I know

I'm 15 weeks in to EMT school. I read the entire text book before classes started (and a couple study guides). And right now, while doing class work, home work, quizzes, and exams. I'm also reading more advanced anatomy books, an EKG interpretation book, and a couple other books. And I have a bunch of "cheat sheets" I go over at least once a day. Plus at least once or twice a week I have someone pretend to be a patient while I do an assessment, and they have the "skill sheet" grading my performance by the actually state skill sheet. To be honest, I didn't learn a lot from the book, but it did give me a solid foundation for when classes started. And now I'm the know it all in class that answers all the questions. lol. But the hands on labs is really where I feel like I learned the most. We do CPR/Shock this week, then we're supposed to start our clinical hours and ride alongs. I can't wait to get on a rig and start getting hands on experience. And get to have full day sessions of asking questions to people in the field and seeing first hand how they handle the different calls. I think (for me) that's where I'm really going to learn the most.
