WHY You'll Fail EMT School

Becoming an EMT at 19 years old changed my life, it gave me a purpose and direction. I hope that your career path in EMS gives you the same energy and passion it has given to me.

I remember inside my EMT class we started with over 80 EMT students on day 1, by the end of class, we were down to under 30 students. I detail why some EMT students fall behind or fail the course. Following these 4 steps will give you the best possible chance to becoming a certified EMT.

If you are a AEMT student or Paramedic student watching these same 4 principles also apply to your studies.

Be Great,

Evan, The Paramedic Coach®

listen to this man, I passed emt school and the NREMT after listening to his videos and especially the video vault course he offers. Absolute life saver, easy to understand and very comprehensive

I should know, it took me 4 tries to pass EMT school and 2 tries the NREMT, But I PASSED BOTH.

Your videos helped me so much. I’m a Navy Corpsman going through NREMT and I had to switch off the TCCC mindset since the military and civilian side of EMT do things differently. Used your videos for a week straight and passed first try! Thank you for expanding my medical knowledge and capability!

Absolutely right sir, these are the common problems which emts are suffering from them, I itself was in these problems, when I get the video access of nremt, these are decreasing day by day.hats off sir🥰🥰

Hey Evan, love your vids, been watching for awhile now! Can you do a video about common medications/drugs given by a-emts/paramedics? Example: adenosine, atropine, lidocaine, amiodarone etc, what their functions are and when it’s appropriate to use them? That would be amazing

My EMT class was like "Here, read the Pearsons textbook and we will let you know when we start labs." 3 weks later we started labs in person, the teachers asked questions nobody knew the answer to. We later started doing Trauma/ Medical assessments without an example or even go over the material. We were not sure on what to do so our instructor got mad and started saying we were not ready to test and that we need to study more. The instructor proceeded to grill us and pretty much called us trash, instead of going over the material and giving us an example the instructor was just disappointed and was not even trying to teach us anything. I hate my instructors they never really helped with anything. I understand things better watching Evan explain it.

I have a question! I have hyperhidrosis, I can’t imagine working with extremely sweaty hands. My hands sweat even if I’m not nervous. Is it something that’s more common than not or just don’t even try emt ?

Hello! I’m currently in EMT school.. 3rd week in and classes are not in person.. and only once a week we have lecture through zoom.. I read and take notes, but I am struggling to retain the information I read. I really wish I can have in person lecture and hands on time, but that just isn’t the case with the school I’m in. Unfortunately, it’s too late for a refund and I’m trying my best to do the best I can to understand the information. Any tips..?

Passed my EMT Basic class in 2019, and gave up on it.. Now in a few months I’m moving from Cali to Florida and going back to school.

How do we make sure we stand out for the companies hiring.. I’m sure they hire from a few places but I know ambulance companies prefer some EMT schools over others. I.e a 3 week online EMT class vs a 12 Week in person course with an instructor.. Should I contact the places I’ll be applying at eventually and get their opinion on what program to go through?
