The way I memorize the strings is something I came across on wikipedia a bit ago and I love it:

Let me just say that I am so proud of everyone who came back for day 2. That takes a lot of work to commit to. I should actually be on day 3, but I was busy yesterday, and the time I got to play, I spent it all on other guitar courses. I feel quite bad about it because this lesson was short and enjoyable and easy, and I learned to switch my fingers from e minor to c major 7 much easier. On to day 3, and I will make it a priority to do day 4 tomorrow!!

Ive messed around on guitars since I was 15 (im 48 now)! Ive never had a lesson, never learnt to understand music. This is the best place to learn guitar without having an actual one to one lesson with a tutor. The one lesson I have learnt over the years is that you have to practice and persevere, its the only way to do it.
