I have the original Ally and plan to upgrade to the Ally X simply because of the battery life gains.

Finally I review that isn't bashing alternatives and shilling for the steamdeck. This is an actual upgrade compared to the half-baked steamdeck OLED which still has the mediocre APU.

What Asus did was cleaver by adding a 24GB of ram because you now allocate the 8gb for the vram and still have 16gb for gaming thid is awsome plus it runs on windows, so you don't have to worry about mod & game compatibility issues which Linux steam os is still to thia day hasn't fixed and never will.

can you update us on the status of the Triggers, joystick and buttons. In R eddit the Ally X seems to suffer from Quality control issaues

The price dropped so quickly on the original Ally I bought mine just over a year ago and it so much cheaper now! It's nice but a lot of cash for the extra bits. Have u tried the SD card slot as that was a really issue on the old version.

I want to get one. The second usb type c is exactly what the rog ally needed. The external gpu for the og ally was just too expensive.

Sold the OG Steam Deck and bought a Ally X.

Steam Deck just can't handle many AAA games well.

I'm loving this I definitely think this will be my next handheld I was looking at the legion 5 go as well because I love the removable joy-Con aspect. Honestly the windows UI especially on smaller screens is terrible I wish they would have almost a Windows mobile version The general UI needs a big overhall

My Z1 extreme ally is rough on battery!! I play medium settings Fortnite and it’s maybe at 45 mins before I’m at 5%

I have used both the SD and the Ally Extreme. They are both great but for different people. The SD is limited in horsepower and compatibility but is basically plug and play and easy to use with great battery life. I never thought the led SD had a bad screen. It is a tad too large. The Ally is more powerful especially when plugged in and can do 120hz. It's size is more comfortable but it's buttons and sticks are a little less premium. It can play just about anything. But do not be fooled, you have to be good at tinkering in Windows 11. You will be messing with Windows and Armor Crate settings regularly. Much more of an IT project.

It’s too dam expensive Oydessy TECH it’s a refresh not a upgrade the rog all 2 will be a upgrade and I believe rog should have made a base model less ram and a 256gb for under 599.00 bucks most people have to sell their previous models and donate plasma and a kidney just to get this and it has the same chip/perfomance and screen which is good but rog shouldn’t be asking $800 bucks that’s just my opinion

Stay away from this brand I didn’t even have mine for three months before the charging port went out on it and it wouldn’t charge anymore after that I’ve been 100% cloud gaming for my iPhone 15 and never have problems because I have good Internet but no this physical hardware crapnot trustworthy right now give it a few more years
