Have you ever wondered how golf clubs are made? With drivers talking about CG location, weight savings and adjustability, what goes into the creation of the club from a materials side?

THP TV sat down with Mike Yagley from Cobra Golf to discuss this very topic and it is a fascinating technology conversation for anybody that likes golf.

The places to find us for tons of contests and events.

I've honestly never thought about how much work goes in to the design of a driver. That's really amazing.

Who knew that so much tech goes into designing a driver. Mind boggling! Nobody explains things better than Mike Yagley. Even us dummies can follow along! - Greg19

Very fascinating stuff. Would have never dreamed that went in to designing / contructing a driver would be more complex than aerospace technology!

I think the fact that the tie structure - no structure behind the hosel and base where the screw sits is incredible to save weight there and move it around to other areas to benefit the golfer.

Yags is the best at breaking down engineering and making it understandable and fun.

That is just awesome, Yagley is always such a pro. Weeks of work to make such a detailed adjustment, that is really impressive!

Amazingly interesting. As a former engineer, I could watch videos like this all day long. As a patent attorney, I could watch videos like this all day long! Would also love writing patent applications for a product like this. So much depends on such minute details.

I’d love to see how these companies engineers their irons.

I know the words "great" and "awesome" are overused, but in this case, both are applicable to this THP TV segment.

Also, that was an interesting sound at 5:48.

Are there rules or limitations to how light or heavy or big or what the general shape of a driver is allowed to be or is it just the preference of the player what he wants? I would have thought a heavy head on a driver would have hit the ball much harder and further..

Q: How is a driver made?
A: It's very difficult, it takes time, it's really hard to make. That'll be $500.

so much that goes into the design. Honestly not sure how Cobra can improve on the F7. It does sound great, feels great and performs great

Could've done with a little close up camera
