UPS driver here out of Dallas Tx. You start out at $20 an hour, in 4 years you top out at $41 an hour. Full ride benefits paid for by company for you and all your dependents, pension, 7 paid personal days off, 6 weeks vacation a year, $62 an hour any day you work past the 8th hour, $120(triple time) an hour if you work past 9.5 hours in a day more then 3 days a week. Unionized. $100, 000+ a year…

Very hard on the body, I’m in Texas so summer is brutal, 130 degrees in back of the truck, injuries are very common, hard labor…but if you know how to take care of yourself and do the job well it’s a very good career and allows me to provide for my family and live a very good life…thx to the Union getting us all those perks.

***Edit, we are now at $45 an hour under the new contract and will top out in 2028 at $49 an hour. Plus the OT rates and triple time.

Props to him it’s not easy to “stay down” and stay focused nowadays.

Ups is hardily ever hiring for delivery drivers plus it’s a long hideous process.

That’s why having a union is important. FedEx failed at that

“Beginning early on can truly make a difference. I remember a school friend and I graduating in the 80s. While I pursued a professional path, he joined UPS. Fast forward to today, he’s enjoying a young and comfortable retirement, blessed with wealth, a sprawling ranch, and a wonderful family. In contrast, here I am at 59, still searching for opportunities. Recently, I saw a UPS ad, but the thought of my friend discovering I considered it feels embarrassing. Life’s journeys are diverse, and timing plays its role.”

As someone who has an uncle who retired from working UPS in busy ass NY, there is so much left out of these videos. Pay is well but your body will pay for it, they will bitch if you bring packages back and if you live in a hot state good luck with those crazy dash fans as your A/C

It's crazy how good these trade jobs are... I'm a 15 year math teacher with a masters degree, and this guy makes about the same as me without his OT counted... Young folks take notice

Keep up the videos. You ask the questions of the people who are afraid or not motivated to.

I’m a sanitation worker for 25 years. I was a heavy motor equipment operator before that. I make more as a garbage man than driving 18 wheelers and front end loaders. Ups guys in NY are hustlers, it’s not easy work I’m surprised he didn’t get into details about working until 11 on a week night

I know people that been with them for 8 years barely driving and they still aren’t DRIVING DRIVING they’re basically drivers in training…hard to do this as a grown person

This is good for young people, that aren’t sure what they want to do. Something is better than nothing. So many jobs are hiring without a degree these days. Take advantage of this, if you don’t want to go to college. Trades are great as well. Just do something positive please. Don’t get involved in the street life or sit around wasting your life away. ❤❤❤❤

25 years old and I’m making 100k a year started off at 18 years old and been driving for 4. Not to mention 6 weeks paid off every year

Definitely a job you want to get in to when your young though. I lucked out and got accepted into driving right when I turned 21. My 3 years of seniority in the warehouse played a big part in that.

Meanwhile, this guy's managers are looking at his GPS wondering why he's taking 3 minutes too long on a stop.

Being in a good union is like having a good lawyer!

You don’t want to work for UPS.
Supervisors will make your life more miserable
But go ahead learn by yourself

I pay 1k a month in child support, I can’t seem to stay motivated for more than 3 years at any job. It’s actually depressing as fuck

Worked in the San Bruno hub (Bay Area) from 98’ to 04’. Wanted to be a driver but was told I have to wait another 3 years. I went and got my CDL, quit UPS and went to work for Budweiser delivering beer in San Francisco. Did that for a few years and ended up with the garbage company (Recology). Best career move I made 👍🏽

I know a few UPS workers that started in the warehouse worked as drivers for 5+ years, quit UPS and did something else for a while and apply back at UPS and got hired again as a driver!😊
