(Originally aired: Dec 13, 1997) It's hard to find this clip in good quality, so I'm uploading this video from a non-VHS source and because it's one of my favorite Norm Macdonald jokes ever.

He nails 3 punchlines to a single joke, where he insults women, the audience and, indirectly, SNL. All with a smile on his face.

This is a stellar example of Norm's timing. Notice the pauses between the 1st and 2nd, and between the 2nd and 3rd punchline. The way they are done where there is no expectation of something to follow and their length are a masters class in timing.

Norm McDonald made sure to tell everyone before his death not to say that he “lost his battle with cancer”. He said that when you die, the cancer dies too. So it’s really a tie.

I saw this live almost 27 years ago (seems longer). I remember thinking that I just heard one of the most perfectly-delivered multi-punchline jokes ever. Truly a classic that is never old. RIP, Norm.

The OJ bit right before this makes me smile. He didn't lose weekend update because of any sexist, racist, or bigoted jokes. It was because he kept calling OJ a murderer. 😀 so damned funny. I'm gonna watch a weekend update OJ supercut now.

His timing on this double punchline joke is impeccable. This joke is damn funny on about eleven different levels. Pure genius. Without the brilliant second punchline it would have been very funny. With it, the bit becomes legendary, and he schools every comedian who ever tried to master timing. Even the background video cut to the next story played perfectly into his timing (probably he made sure whoever controlled the graphics was instructed on when to cut to the "Hard Rock Cafe" graphic). Still my favorite Norm joke of all time.
