I think the true worst thing is FEH is the insane power creep with every update

The worst thing is how every game before awakening bankrupts you to buy or aren’t in English

It’s so strange for Engage to scale skirmishes based on Alear’s level when both Awakening and Fates scales based on the chapter/paralogue the skirmish is on.
And even if they didn’t wanna do that route for whatever reason, they could’ve at least tried something like Three Houses’ system where the battle encounters slowly get more difficult as the game progresses, instead of jumping the gear and making the enemies go from manageable to asshole in one or two chapters

I think the Bond ring Gacha is easily the worst part about Engage. A lot of genuinely neat and interesting skills on some S rank rings like Claude’s Bow Range+1 or Olwen’s Dire Thunder, but actually getting the rings you want is impossible without spending well over an hour resetting and watching loading screens to try and change the RNG

The paralogues in Shadow Dragon are there to give you extra units in case you lost too many. You’re not expected to go out of your way to get units killed just for the worse substitutes

What i wishes in Three houses is, that the Monastery changes over the Seasons. the narrator says, that its realy cold in fodland and the peoples prepare for the incoming cold, but the monastery is unaffected. its a minor detail, but it would make the game a bit more exciting

I personally hate how the higher ranking weapons in fates give an penalty on the user. So for example the Silver weapons while it gives -5 dodge to the holder that is something i can live with but that you also lose 2 strength and skill for every repeatable use that is stupid and it takes 1 turn to recover 1 lost point of it back if you used the silver weapons.

Worst thing about genealogy: no remake

Worst thing about binding blade: no localization (correct me if I'm wrong though)

Worst thing about Ikes games: their prices

In Engage its definitely the loading screens. Go to the Somniel. Loading screen. Go to the Ring Chamber. Loading screen. Leave the Ring Chamber. Loading screen. Go to the Arena. Loading Screen. Half the time of every Somnial visit is spend in those damn loading screens.

Skirmishes scaling to Alear's level is so fucking backwards, lol. They're the one unit you HAVE to take with you on most (if not all) story chapters, so ofcourse they're going to be strong. You're forced to used a rewind if Alear bites the dust, or restart the chapter. And with how many units Engage is throwing at you, often in pairs of three, there's no way you can bring them all. So if you want to level up a straggler you like, you have to enter a skirmish with strong units and the stragglers, carefully wittle down as many targets as you can with your strong units without killing them, while simultaneously keep your straggler out of harm's way and then have your low level straggler swoop in for the kill so they snag the exp. The whole process is so painfully slow and tedious, you won't bother to do it more than once or twice.
There are some Emblems that help your straggler be a bit more of a presence on the field (Micaiah is pretty good at giving them some fast exp with her Great Sacrifice), but it's still very far from good. Skirmishes should scale based on your story progress, so you can farm them with a few stragglers at once and have them catch up to the level you want them to be at.

I recently played shadow dragon and the thing I missed the most was the rescue option. I wasted so much time moving marth across the map because only he can go into the villages

I’d argue getting the true ending in fe6 is infinitely worse than how it was in 3 Hopes

I almost thought you would say the worst thing about Blazing Blade is the Sol Katti. That blade memed into oblivion

Worst thing in FE7 is the total batshit buffoonery some requirements are. In Pale Flower of Darkness if you open 4 doors before turn 10 you get Karel, but if you open 3 or less you get Harken and that's only if your Hero Crest users have more total levels than your Guiding Ring users, if the magic users have more levels, you must kill 3 or more promoted units (The Sage, Bishop, and Druid if Eliwood is the main lord and the General, Bishop and Sniper in the Northwest Building if Hector is the main lord) before turn 10 to get Karel or kill 2 or less for Harken. You then must talk to Karel with the main Lord or Lyn to recruit him and Harken must be talked to with any Knight of Pherae or Eliwood.

I remember when first playing, I thought Eliwood’s story was chapters 11-20 and Hector’s would be 21-30 to match Lyn

Excellent video! It honestly made me realize how solidly great most Fire Emblem games are, especially the ones from Blazing Sword to Awakening.

I can forgive the story of Engage because it feels stupid in the "Saturday morning Cartoon" kinda way

I don't really remember which Telius game does it worse, but I'd consider the worse part just how much of a slog some maps can be, that have TONS of units. I'm not against large battles per se, but I know different strategy games must handle it differently for a specific reason : flow. Fire emblem fights are naturally longer than other games due to battle animations, and map battle animations in Telius games are a bit slower than other games in the series. Telius games in general are slower than most in the series, so when you get 40 units moving during the AI turn it can be LONG.

the thing that bugs me is: In Echoes, why did they make almost every tile of a building have an evasion chance? You're just relying on stupid RNG at that point. not strategy.
